FIRST EVER Collective Photo Action on the streets of BEIRUT! Join FRAME in partnership with NAHNOO, Train Train, and Public Works to take to the streets and document public life!

This Collective Photo Action is all about public space, transportation and mobility, and privatization of Beirut's coastline. We'll be at Minus 1 at 4:30pm on JUNE 26 to listen to a series of short presentations and then hit the streets to document Beirut! Special Guest via Skype: internationally acclaimed photojournalist DONNA FERRATO will also join us to discuss her work documenting Tribeca, NY over the last 20 years.

          Ghada Waked
          Ghada Waked is a Professor at the University of Balamand ALBA and Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. She is also President of Beirut's Biennial for the Image and founder of Albedo Creative Platform.

          Mona El Hallak Ghaibeh
          Mona El Hallak Ghaibeh is a Lebanese architect and heritage preservation activist. She received her B. Arch from AUB in 1990 and her Master of Architecture from Syracuse University-Florence Program in 1994. She has her own office with many residential projects built and under construction in Beirut.

          She is a member of APSAD "Association pour le Sauvegarde des Sites et Anciens Demeures au Liban", a founding member of “IRAB”, a non-governmental organization working on the preservation of the musical heritage of the Arab world, and a founding member of “ZAKIRA”, a non-governmental organization for promoting photography and its role in documenting and preserving Memory.

          She led several heritage preservation campaigns and succeeded in the preservation of the "Barakat Building" in Beirut after 15 years of lobbying. The building was expropriated by the Municipality of Beirut and will be turned into Beit Beirut: a museum of memory and a cultural and urban center for the City of Beirut.

          In 2013, she was given the “Ordre National du Merite au grade de Chevalier” from the President of the French Republic in recognition of her work and achievements in preserving cultural heritage.

          Charbel Samuel Aoun
          Born in 1980, Charbel Samuel Aoun holds a master’s degree in architecture (2004).
          During the following five years he worked as a conceptual designer in several architectural firms in Beirut and explored the fields of audiovisual and theatre. At the same time, he started creating a wild garden, combining hundreds of varieties of plants and trees.

          Several collectors and institutions such as the Royal Family of Emirates, Raymond Audi, Jean Marc Decrop, Abraham Karabajakian, and the Tate Modern museum collected have collected Aoun's work.
